The attention surrounding a foreign president left familiar domestic policy disputes unanswered.
An endorsement is a political statement, not an Israeli legislative agreement. Whoever forms a government must navigate Knesset votes, budgets, military recruitment policy and institutional oversight. Axios described Netanyahu's outreach to Trump but could not convert that outreach into a domestic mandate.
For the public, the practical questions extend beyond the tone of the election campaign: Who would carry out the proposal? What legal authority would be required? What costs or trade-offs would follow? What evidence would show that the policy worked? Those questions apply equally to newer entrants and experienced figures.
Ofer Winter's Amcha Israel movement similarly must show how its service and defense proposals could attract parliamentary support and survive legal review.
